Description

Green hydrogen applications will increase exponentially over the next 5 years. The demand for suitable instrumentation is increasing. Hydrogen applications can be found on production plants (green H2), H2 refueling stations, fuel cells, engines driven by H2,hydrogen tanks and H2 compressors.

LABOM has built up a range of pressure transmitters for this, with and without separating membranes. With their new selection software, they determine whether gold plating is required or not, depending on the concentration, temperature and pressure of the hydrogen medium.

LABOM has gone one step further and has developed a compact ATEX certified pressure transmitter, without a diaphragm seal and which does not require gold plating. This reduces the cost of the device and installation costs. The pressure is internally not transferred by oil but by small lamellae up to the sensor so that any hydrogen migration has no effect on the accuracy of the measurements. The maximum operating pressure is 700 bar and will be increased to 1000 bar at the end of this year.

TRAFAG has now also launched a compact pressure transmitter for hydrogen applications, the NHT250. Here too, H2 compatible steel is used, just like LABOM
