In my shoes: a rewarding experience!

Since October, members of Dalemans' in-house teams who so wish have been temporarily swapping jobs to experience the day-to-day life of another department within the company.

This is not a training course, but an immersion programme lasting a few hours. The aim? To give everyone the opportunity to observe the activities of colleagues in other departments, to better understand their role in the overall process. This type of experience gives them the opportunity to discover the workings of the company from a new angle,’ says Carine Blockx – Teamleader HR & Accounting. It allows them to go behind the scenes of their colleagues’ day-to-day work, and to gain a better understanding of the constraints and challenges they face. This immersion promotes a better understanding of the stages upstream or downstream of processes. It can inspire new ideas and approaches to solving problems. ‘Employees approach their work with fresh eyes when they return to their original position. This approach facilitates exchanges and improves collaboration between departments. ‘It strengthens team spirit and breaks down barriers between functions.
